Desmond Elliot

Spurred by the success of Guilty Pleasure and Nollywood Hustlers, the trio of Emem Isong, Desmond Elliot and Uche Jombo have gone back to location to shoot a new movie, Holding Hope. This time around they are raising the bar several inches higher with a N20 million movie that has heavyweight cast which include Desmond Elliot, Nadia Buari, Uche Jombo, Susan Peters, Rukky Sanda, Ngozi Nwosu and others.

Desmond was seen directing the script with intense energy when we visited the location and Emem Isong was directing the administrative aspect of the movie.
“This is not your regular movie. We are going all out for this project. That is why we are spending so much. We are shooting for cinema; this is film even though we are not using 35 mm. This will go a long way to show that Nollywood is ready for serious business” she said.
We spoke to Austin, the Director of Photography on set and he disclosed that he is using P2 to shoot. This is the kind of stuff you can blow into film when you are done. Most producers in Nollywoood have not woken up to this.

After this we have P1 and Red. We can achieve whatever we want with this kind of camera. This is a giant step forward” the Jeta Amata’s protégée disclosed to us.
Meanwhile, Guilty Pleasure, the latest movie from Desmond Elliot and Emem Isong is enjoying massive patronage at Silverbird Cinema in Ghana. The movie premiered penultimate week and the mass response at the cinema is spurring friends and business partners on to shoot another movie that is of better standard.
